CommUnity Quilt Project

The CommUnity Quilt Project is a grassroots, non-affiliated initiative run by people in Barnet.

The project aims to foster unity and stand against the racist and divisive rhetoric of the far-right and the systems that feed it. It began in the wake of the riots in summer 2024.

Through the collaborative creation of a community quilt, this project seeks to celebrate and commemorate the diversity of Barnet, particularly welcoming and integrating refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.

The quilts - composed of patches contributed by people of all ages and backgrounds - symbolise the unity and solidarity of the evolving community for years to come and are currently on display at various locations around the borough.
