We made the decision in light of increasing COVID-19 infections in the borough. New Barnet Leisure Centre, in the heart of the local community within Victoria Recreation Ground will operate as a cashless facility and features a range of new modern innovations. Residents can now enjoy access to a learner pool, 25m six-lane community pool, café, health and fitness suite, two studios, two health improvement rooms, a partnership library, outdoor tennis courts, a multi-use games area, and a new and improved area for children and young people.

Detailed plans are still being finalised, but the works are expected to start in November, and are likely to last up to six months. The council’s primary focus is on delivering a solution that best enables it to run its street scene services with minimum disruption. The council is currently exploring a number of changes to operations, including weekend working.
