Improve accessibility for all users. Support the provision of a wide range of shops and services to meet the needs of diverse local populations. All Town Centre Frameworks are subject to community engagement in order to identify the different requirements of each individual centre and the different needs and preferences of those who use them.

The Dollis Valley Estate lies to the north of the borough on the outskirts of Chipping Barnet near High Barnet, the last station on the Northern Line. The estate is on a south facing slope within an area of traditional suburban housing with excellent views across the adjacent green belt, and designated as both a Countryside Conservation area and Heritage Land.

The regeneration of the West Hendon estate, in the south-west of the borough, aims to create a new mixed neighbourhood of social, private and affordable homes with a range of benefits, including a new school and community centre. At least £11.5 million would be required to bring existing homes up to Decent Homes Standards; the cost of which would need to be funded by both the council and existing homeowners.
