Teen Book Group: Heartstopper

Join us for our Valentine’s Day special. We will be discussing books that made your heart stop. Whether they are rollercoaster romances or thrillers, or Alice Oseman's brilliant Heartstopper graphic novel series, come along and share your most exciting reads. Age Guidance: 12 to 16 year olds.

Come along for fun, games and storytelling in this Shakespeare-themed craft event! We will be making our very own books to take home and read! This event is suitable for children aged 6+. No booking is required. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Join us on Library Lovers’ Day for a story celebrating books, rhymes, and some simple British Sign Language to go along with them. Suitable for children aged 3 to 6 years old.

Write a short story in this workshop with lots of visual prompts to help you, and design a cover for your story. Suitable for children aged 7 and above. This event is part of Creative Communities for residents of Colindale.

New Barnet Library manager Nick Black will be discussing 'flash fiction' and reading from his own debut collection of stories, 'POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE', published by Ad Hoc Fiction in 2022. Conversation Cafe at Mill Hill library

Conversation Café is for people whose first language is not English and aims to help improve their speaking skills. The sessions cover a variety of subjects and topics to help you gain confidence in speaking English in a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment. Our Shared Reading group is a place to relax, make new friends and share stories with others. You can just drop in, sit down and enjoy listening to a great story or poem. There’s no pressure to talk or read.  

Join us for Rhymes ,story and sensory play. This session is suitable for non-walking babies. No booking is required. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.   

Join us for a free online evening with Swedish international bestselling author Arne Dahl discussing his latest crime novel 'You Are Next'. Arne will be in discussion with Jacky Collins aka Dr Noir. This event includes a question and answer session and an online bookseller will be in attendance. Arne Dahl is the author of twenty novels and has been translated into more than thirty languages. He is the creator of the bestselling Intercrime series which was made into a BBC TV series.
