Barnet Libraries' Creative Communities programme welcomes DJ&MC Academy, who will be running a radio presenting and DJ’ing workshop for teenagers. Recommended for anyone who has a passion for music or DJ’ing, or who just wants to try it out and learn some new skills.

Halloween Arts and Crafts at Burnt Oak library

A Halloween themed craft activity. Age guidance: 5 to 8 year olds. No booking required but spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Join us this spooky season to make your own dangling Halloween decorations. Are you brave enough to enter our 'Haunted Library Storytime Experience'? It comes complete with a trick or a treat. Age guidance: suitable for children aged 4+. No booking is required. First-come, first-served.  

A special half term visit for our Creative Communities programme. Everyone is welcome on board the Mobile Library. You can join the library and choose books to borrow straight away. There will be a special storytime session starting at 11am. There is no need to book, just drop in any time between 10.15am and midday. 

Conversation Café at Burnt Oak library

Our Conversation Café is for people whose first language is not English. It offers an informal activity for those who would like to improve their speaking skills. The sessions cover a variety of subjects and topics to help you gain confidence in speaking English in a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment. This event takes place during term time only. For more information, email Burnt Oak library or speak to a member of staff.

Design and create your own giant postage stamp to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III. This event is suitable for children aged 4 and over. No booking required. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England

IT Taster Sessions at Edgware library

Edgware library offers sessions in learning basic IT to help improve your level of computer literacy. You will be able to use the computers in the library. Please contact Edgware library for more information.

An interactive workshop for adults who want to learn about mindfulness and how to improve their emotional well-being. The workshop covers using mindfulness in everyday life, to help deal with negative experiences and includes guided mindfulness meditations. This workshop requires participation & working in small groups and is not suitable for those with complex mental health issues. Enrolment at 9.30am.

Rhyme Time for babies at Mill Hill library

Rhyme Time is a 30 minute facilitated session for parents and carers and their babies. The session involves nursery rhymes and songs, books and a story. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.  Rhyme Time takes places in term time only.
