Waste Management Operations and Machinery

Subject: Freedom of Information Request - Dear FOI Officer/Information Governance Team, I am writing to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. To assist with clarity and to minimise the burden on your time, I have kept the request as concise as possible. I would be grateful if you could provide the following information in relation to your waste management operations: Sites The number of waste sites you own or operate (e.g. HWRCs, transfer stations, processing facilities). For each site, please confirm whether it is managed directly by your organisation or contracted out. If contracted, please provide the name of the contractor. Waste Streams The approximate annual tonnage processed by each site, broken down by main recyclable waste streams (e.g. paper/card, plastics, metals, glass, organics). Machinery The type and number of waste compacting and baling machines currently in use at each site. Whether there are plans to replace or upgrade machinery in the next three years. If so, please indicate the expected timescales and the intended procurement route (e.g. direct tender or via a public sector framework). If a framework will be used, please specify which one and under which lot. We appreciate the time required to respond to FOI requests and have deliberately structured our questions to make them as straightforward as possible to answer. If any element of this request is unclear or exceeds the appropriate cost/time limit, please provide the information you can within the statutory requirements of the Act.
