Barnet Council has secured a £250,000 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to support its vision for a year of culture events featuring music, performance, arts and heritage.

The London Borough of Barnet marked Armed Forces Week with a curry reception last night (25 June), in partnership with the RAF Museum, to pay tribute to the Armed Forces, Reservists, Cadets Services, veterans, and their families in the borough.

Barnet is proud of its status as a Borough of Sanctuary – awarded in 2024 – and to our heritage as a place where people from all over the world have been welcomed and been able to thrive over many decades. We were able to celebrate some of our newest arrivals at the Refugee Week events that ran throughout the last week.

Barnet Council and contractors Tarmac Kier Joint Venture (TKJV), have completed the £3million reconstruction of Hampden Way, N14. The 10-month project was completed both on time and to budget.

The Met Office have issued a yellow heat-health alert for London from today until Sunday 22 June at 6pm, with temperatures expected to go over 30 degrees.
